Purposes This study aimed to investigate the correlations between knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of health industry practitioners concerning measures for Taiwan’s Long-Term Care Plan 2.0. Methods A cross-sectional study design was employed. Subjects were selected from amongst health industry practitioners in central Taiwan using convenience sampling. Data were collected using an anonymous online questionnaire. A total of 400 questionnaires were administered, and 352 valid responses were received (response rate: 88.00%). Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted on the collected data using SPSS 25.0. Results The results indicated that most of the subjects were married, women, aged 41-50 years, with a university education and living in nuclear families. The average correct response rate for knowledge regarding the Long-Term Care Plan 2.0 was 60.77%, indicating scope for further improvement. Average scores for attitudes and behaviors were moderate, suggesting a level of proactivity and positivity among the subjects. Gender, affinity toward the elderly, willingness to live with the elderly, age, educational level, and family composition were associated with significant differences in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding the Long-Term Care Plan 2.0. Practitioners with a high level of Long-Term Care Plan 2.0 knowledge also exhibited better attitudes and more positive behaviors. Age, educational level, family composition, knowledge, and attitudes were significant predictors of behaviors regarding the Long-Term Care Plan 2.0. Conclusions It is imperative for the government and healthcare institutions to intensify efforts in promoting and publicizing long-term care services through various channels. This will lead to an increased awareness and deeper understanding of such resources among the public, thereby aiding individuals in selecting the most suitable long-term care plan for themselves. |
