Development in construction that grows fast urges designers and the industry sector to find a better and more efficient way to make the work faster and easier. Concrete, as the principal material in construction, especially in the building industry nowadays, is used for creating a simple shape design and moving towards an organic shape, which is more flexible and difficult to shape without a formwork. The high cost of creating a flexible shape formwork for concrete makes the researcher do this study to find a better solution. Combining fabric formwork with its possibility to create an organic shape and its benefit compared to traditional formwork for creating more free shape, and digital fabrication like 3D printing technology for creating the generative parametric mold that can be customized easily is the main discussion in this study as a solution for the problems before. Defining digital fabrication technology in construction use of parametric and generative design, researchers prove the possibility of fabric formwork on concrete in the construction industry as a new innovative solution. |
