Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) case management is a tedious and time-consuming task. Before the software system was established, HIV case managers mostly utilize files to integrate data. The scattered and inconsistent data forms challenge the integration ability of case managers. Data is based on either patients or dates, integrating and archiving will encounter other difficult problems in querying and analysis. For rapid and correct collect case data, and let case managers to focus on HIV patients care, the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) Care Team of Tri-Service General Hospital (hereinafter referred to as the team) developed the unique ''AIDS Case Management Data System'' (hereinafter referred to as the system). Based on the clinical practice experience of the team, the system could analyze and expand functions for different projects, combines with clinical performance, provides more convenient, accurate queries, and analysis. The system could also analyze the data base for clinical research to improve the quality of ''total patient care'' for HIV patients. |
