In order to investigate the quality compliance of preservatives and microorganisms in baby wipes, thirty samples were randomly collected by the local health bureaus from supermarkets, convenience stores, hypermarkets, department stores, pharmacy, drug and cosmetic stores, and infant product stores from January to June, 2023. Among them, twenty one were manufactured in Taiwan and 9 were imported. The results showed 6 samples (unqualified rate: 20%) were detected unlabeled preservatives and 1 of them was detected Methylisothiazolinone at 0.00317% which exceeded the regulatory limit (0.0015%) as preservatives, also methylisothiazolinone can only be used in rinse-off cosmetics. All the violated cases were sent to the local health authorities for further administrative processing. |
