Young intellectuals were the core force to promote the Chinese Soviet movement, who were cultivated by new ideas and patriotic enthusiasm and brought the idea of national salvation and social reform to their hometown. Such revolution often had a strong regional and consanguineous feature, which was particularly obvious in the northeast of Jiangxi. As a native, Fang Zhimin established a set of“unique revolutionary mode”here. In addition, the relatively independent geographical location of northeast Jiangxi made it a“closed”and critical transportation hub, which was a special presence in the Communist revolution. This was the exact reason why the Soviet movement in Northeast Jiangxi was able to contend against the Kuomintang government for several years without the support of a strong military force. Fang Zhimin was killed by the Kuomintang government after the defeat of the advance troops of the anti-Japanese movement to the north. Since then, the image of a martyr gradually appeared in front of the world. |
