The survey sampled workers in Taiwan who were 15 years or older and had labor insurance as of February 2022. We used stratified sampling in this survey and collected 4,009 effective samples. The survey consisted of five parts: basic information, personal work conditions, physical and chemical work environment awareness, psychosocial work environment, and physical and mental health conditions. The study found that 63.4% of workers thought that they would be exposed to at least one workplace health issue; 38% of workers believed they were exposed to the ''risk of contracting COVID 19''; 31.1% to hot temperature; 29.8% to extremely loud noises; and 27% to a lot of dust. This finding is different from that in 2015, when respondents believed that environmental sanitation problems were mainly ''very hot (48%)''. It can be seen that the epidemic has affected respondents' subjective attention to workplace environmental sanitation, which is different from previous years. 67.5% of workers said they encountered at least one ergonomic issue when they worked. ''Standing or walking for a prolonged period of time'' accounted for 43.9%. In terms of personal protective gear use, 99.6% of workers wore ''face masks or respiratory equipment'' at work. 82.5% of workers used at least one digital device at work, 27.5% of workers thought that their companies monitor their digital device usage. Also, 6.5% of workers used internet’s match making work platforms to accept job offers. 62.8% of workers stated that their current health condition were ''either good or excellent''; 74.4% said that they had experienced discomfort in the past year, including ''muscle and bone pain'' at 59.7%. 3.9% of workers had severe fatigue, and 11.6% had emotional issues. The results of this survey of the workforce’s awareness of workplace safety and health, it can serve as a critical reference for subsequent workplace safety and health education, training, andimprovement efforts. |
