Changes in the Relationship between Li Yuan and Li Shimin After the“Xuanwu Gate Incident”

「玄武門事變」後，李淵、李世民父子雖表面達成和解，但直至李淵過世，雙方皆未能冰釋前嫌，彼此仍持懷恨猜忌之心。李世民以罷廢舊政、徙居、禁止活動等報復李淵；李淵則以暗諷、拒絶示好等方式，表達對李世民以軍事政變方式脅迫退位的不滿，並時不時防備著李世民可能的加害。從李世民對李淵的態度，推測李世民在「玄武門事變」後，患有「創傷後壓力症候群」。

After the“Xuanwu Gate Incident,”although Li Yuan唐高祖and his son Li Shimin唐太宗apparently reached a reconciliation, until Li Yuan's death, both sides could not clear up their differences, and they still held grudges against each other. Li Shimin’s retaliation against Li Yuan, such as abolishing policies, relocating places of residence, and prohibiting activities; Li Yuan expressed dissatisfaction with Li Shimin’s use of military coup to force him to abdicate, constantly insinuating and refusing to show goodwill, and preventing potential harm caused by Li Shimin. From Li Shimin’s attitude towards Li Yuan, it can be inferred that Li Shimin suffered from Post-traumatic stress disorder after the Xuanwu Gate Incident.
