Tele-education and e-learning have been gaining ground in surgical training programs for several decades. Scientific societies encouraged remote online learning opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic to eliminate obstacles to medical training such as lockdowns and travel restrictions. The IRCAD (Research Institute against Digestive Cancer) has been a pioneer in surgical tele-education since its launch of WebSurg in 2000. The extensive library of peer-reviewed surgical intervention videos, live broadcasts, certified webinars, and e-learning modules render WebSurg one of the most trustworthy repositories of medical information, attracting hundreds of thousands of members and millions of views. Its growing user base indicates that demand for surgical e-learning keeps increasing. WebSurg and IRCAD remain committed to making state-of-the-art didactic surgical content globally accessible while adhering to high-quality standards set by internationally accepted guidelines and recommendations. |
