海峽兩岸航空業界代表團於1月15日在澳門就春節包機方面達成共識，雙方於1月29日至2月20日，提供包機服務，飛行地點分別為北京、上海、廣州、台北及高雄。陳總統日前指出，兩岸進行春節包機直飛，是歷史性的一刻，是未來兩岸協商的良好基礎，也是兩岸關係正常化的起點。

Aviation delegations from Taiwan and mainland China, meeting in Macau on Jan. 15, reached a consensus on the provision of direct cross-straits charter flights by the two sides from Jan. 29 through Feb. 20. The unprecedented Chinese New Year’s flights will serve Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taipei, and Kaohsiung. President Chen Shuei-bian pointed out that the operation of direct charter flights will be an historic event, providing a sound foundation for future crossstraits negotiations and marking a start of the normalization of cross-straits relations.
