為強化著作權保護，立法院第五屆第五會期第一次臨時會於8月24日三讀通過「著作權法」部分條文修正草案，並於9月1日經總統公布施行，重點包括：
1.著作權人所採取禁止或限制他人擅自進入著作之防盜拷措施，未經合法授權不得予以破解、破壞或以其他方法規避。

The Legislative Yuan passed a revision of the Copyright Act on Aug. 24, and promulgated by the President on September 1st. The main points of the revision are as follows:
1. Technological protection measures employed by copyright owners to prohibit or restrict others from accessing works shall not, without legal authorization, be disarmed, destroyed, or by any other means circumvented.
