One of the purposes of my recent visit (1928) to Yunnan was to investingate the Lolos living in the south-eastern part of this province. As this work, owing to the temporary local conditions in this region, could not be carried out as I had originally intended, I confined it to wbat was accessible at the spot. In Yunnanfu, I found a Lolo family, mative of the above indicated region, consisting of five adult women, a young man, and two children. All of them used their mother tongue in the family, and when visiting bušid’i but used Chinese when dealing with the Chinese. |
