Elizabethkingia meningoseptica (E. meningoseptica) is associated with nosocomial infection and high mortality and morbidity, especially in immunocompromised patients. E. meningoseptica typically exhibits resistance to the antimicrobial agents. Herein we report a rare case of bacteremia caused by E. meningoseptica associated with spondylodiscitis, paraspinal abscess, and psoas muscle abscess. Despite antimicrobial therapy and surgical infection source control, breakthrough bacteremia continued to cause poor outcomes. |
