Background: In a hospital, nursing leaders play a key leadership role, enabling effective hospital management and ensuring the service quality of nursing staff. Purpose: This study conducted a systematic analysis and literature review to analyze the characteristics of nursing leaders. Furthermore, it comprehensively analyzed advanced training courses for nursing staff, the performance characteristics of nursing leaders, nursing leadership, and future development, with the purpose of developing suggestions for improvements. Results: The results reveal that nursing leaders played multiple roles, including providing guidance to nursing staff, building consensus within teams and keeping them motivated, exercising foresight and employing their forecasting ability, leveraging their ability to perform tax-sensitive observations and take practical actions, and comprehensively understanding the dynamics and changes in nursing workplaces and practice. Furthermore, they must study problems, think deeply, plan early, confront challenges, and demonstrate their leadership. Conclusions and Recommendations: Nursing leaders must possess assertiveness, competency in nursing administration, and the ability to envision the future. Furthermore, they must clearly identify development directions and goals, engage in mature and stable interpersonal communication, exhibit forward thinking, and contribute to the development of hospitals and nursing staff. Thus, nursing leaders should develop comprehensive plans and take concrete actions to actively nurture the development of nursing executives who can respond to future challenges. |
