臺灣軍隊學習英語的需求日益提升。現今關於軍事英語的教材很多,但是能讓軍事人員在實際任務中應用的有限,大多數現有的教材缺乏有系統的需求分析。此研究的目的是從軍事相關人員實際需求出發並為其制定一份詞彙表。本研究通過問卷調查和與訪談來調查特定需求,並使用語料庫開發出針對軍事領域的詞彙表。共有60名軍校學生和50名軍事人員參加了這項研究。調查包括受訪者對英語學習的需求分析,對專業英語學習中詞彙表的觀點。並根據受訪者需求產生軍事詞彙表。這項研究中的詞彙表提供軍事英語的學習者和老師更接近實際需求的資料。研究結果也提供專業英語課程設計及教學參考。 |
英文摘要 |
The need for the Taiwan military to learn the English language has been extended significantly. There are abundant materials on military English, but only a few materials are being utilized by military officers in applicatory reality-orientated tasks. Most existing materials have been developed without conducting a systematic needs analysis from users’ perspectives. The purpose of this study is to discover the needs and develop a wordlist for the military. The study attempts to investigate the specific needs through questionnaires and interviews with military participants and develop an authentic wordlist tailored to situation-specific military fields. A total of 60 cadets and 50 military personnel participated in this study. Survey information included respondents’ needs analysis of learning English, opinions of wordlist in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) learning. The results generated a military wordlist according to the perceptions of cadets and military personnel. The wordlist identified in this study offers language learners and instructors authentic material when learning Military English. The study has implications for ESP courses' curriculum design and instructional delivery for college-level students. |
