Amid control measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, the public avoid contracting the disease and wish for lockdowns to be lifted as soon as possible. Healthcare professionals must protect themselves from infection while caring for patients diagnosed with the disease. In addition to adhering to their vocation and fulfilling social expectations, healthcare professionals facing the pandemic are engaging in self-actualization, which denotes the fifth and highest stage of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. The present article shares our plan for collaborating with the governmental, hospital, and anesthesiology department to implement long-term prevention measures for pandemic control. Through the adequate allocation of human resources, distribution of personal protective equipment, maintenance of social support, we have provided a supportive and safe work environment while shouldering managerial responsibilities, learning crisis adaptation, and handling clinical affairs. In the postpandemic period, staying safe and healthy is our common goal as health managers. |
