For the container ships, the ship resistance, propeller inflow and propulsive efficiency are deeply dominated by the hull lines. In order to improve the hull lines, the ship resistances including the viscous and wave -making resistances should be correctly predicted. The main object of this paper is to develop a method to solve the wave-making resistance of the container ship under the self-propulsion condition. A container ship model, SR138, is taken as the computing sample. The computing results show the propeller suction effect increased the hull resistance remarkably at the self-propulsion condition, and the wave amplitudes are obvious. The numerical results make good agreement with the measured data. |
