The purpose of this research is to explore the professional socialization of pre-service teachers as a home tutor before they formally become teachers, and to further explore the impact of home tutors’socialization experience for their personal future development of the teacher profession. In terms of research methods, this research uses semi-structured in-depth interviews to understand the difficulties that pre-service teachers may face when they serve as home tutors, as well as their coping styles, and summarize the teachers' socialization phenomenon and experience impact of pre-service teachers. The results of this research found that the socialization of pre-service teachers as home tutor include the need to experience continuous adjustment of teaching, learning to handle the relationship between teacher, students and their parents, and encountering the contradiction between Teacher Education Program and home tutor experience. However, the experience of serving as a home tutor can not only accumulate teaching experience, but also help to train pre-service teachers to face the uncertain future of teachers’career more actively. |
