Double level Chance-type fracture in a patient with ankylosing spondylitis—a case report

僵直性脊椎炎是一種慢性炎性疾病，影響脊椎，周邊關節和關節外結構。由於脊柱的僵硬和骨質疏鬆，即使只受到輕微的創傷就會發生骨折。骨折線穿過後弓，椎弓根和椎體的椎骨損傷稱為彎曲伸展型骨折。我們報告一名48歲僵直性脊椎炎患者，因為跌倒而造成雙處骨折的個案。

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the axial skeleton, peripheral joints and extraarticular structures. Spinal fracture in AS can occur with even minor trauma resulting from spinal rigidity and osteoporosis. A vertebral injury, in which fracture line passes through the posterior arch, pedicle and vertebral body, is characterized as a Chance-type fracture.We present a case of a 48-year-old male with AS and double level Chance-type fractures involving the cervical and thoracic regions of the spine from a low-energy fall.
