In order to achieve the national medical resource integration policy, in recent years, we have been committed to improving the quality of emergency medical services, especially focusing on issues such as patient safety, team resource management, and the process improvement. In both offshore islands of Taitung County, due to limited medical resources, if there is an urgent medical need without adequate local medical staffs and equipment, it is necessary to rely on air medical transport, in which flight safety and patient safety are the first priority. The ''Air Medical Transport Advance Medical Order'' executive program constructed by physicians, nurses from health clinics of both offshore islands, the air medical transport team, Taitung County Fire Department consultant and air medical consultants in the spirit of team resource management. The implementation of the executive program had been announced on Oct. 27, 2020. Based on the needs of users, it should be convenient for offshore-island doctors to quickly issue medical orders, unified offshore-island nurses' emergency medicine allocation methods, and strengthen the safety of air medical transport team in doing orders. This is a cross-team and cross-field drug-delivery standard operation procedure of air medical transport. It will break a new ground for the history of air medical transport in our country for improving patient safety. |
