The advent of Internet of Everything and the portability of networking technology products have given endless possibilities to the development of intelligent healthcare, rendering it omnipresent. From smart wards to personal health promotion, from disease treatment to preventive medicine, intelligent healthcare can be applied in every field. Smart healthcare started off with improving service quality in hospitals, many of which are now equipped with smart rooms and integrated smart wards. Then, thanks to the popularity of wireless networks, wireless transmission capability of many medical devices, sensory collection of wearable devices, smartphone applications, and app value-added applications, the use of intelligent healthcare has expanded from hospitals to individuals, families, institutions, communities, and even the entire city. The integrated application of information and communication technologies has extended from intelligent healthcare to intelligent living and intelligent health. Some smart robots and virtual reality interactive games, originally designed for entertainment purposes, have become powerful tools for smart healthcare. Through the improvement of their sensors and cloud computing, etc., they are now widely used in health promotion, rehabilitation, health guidance, medical profiles, item transportation, long-term care and drug compliance monitoring, drug administration and even highly-complicated surgeries. Medical care should always be people oriented. The design and development of intelligent healthcare, should always be based on the core element of people, which includes not only patients, but also physicians, nursing staff, medical personnel of all categories and patients' families and other users. This paper, keeping people and intelligence at its center, tries to introduce the application of smart healthcare from a functional viewpoint. |
