"西元1931年Brooks, A. N.在美國路易斯安那州首次發現草莓炭疽病，並將其病原菌命名為Colletotrichum fragariae Brooks.。1994年，李和呂兩氏報導臺灣苗栗縣和南投縣發生草莓炭疽病。近年來，苗栗、國姓及埔里等臺灣中部主要草莓的栽培地區，其幼苗與成株普遍遭受炭疽病菌的為害，致使大量植株出現萎凋死亡的現象。"

"Strawberry anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides results in severe damages in the production areas in central Taiwan. It was observed that a recent outbreak could be linked to the application of herbicides at the end of the season. Preliminary studies have revealed that herbicides could promote fungal proliferation and sporulation in soils. This article discusses strawberry anthracnose, including symptoms, the causal pathogens, diagnosis, and management strategies. It is strongly recommended that herbicides shall not be used to clean up the field and that plant debris shall be removed to reduce inoculum."
