"A new interpretation of the external male genitalia in three gerromorphal species is proposed. They are composed of the phallobase, the phallobasal conjunctiva, the inner phallobase, the inner phallobasal conjunctiva and the aedeagus. The characteristic feature of these structures are the inner phallobasal conjunctiva connecting the inner phallobase dorsally and the aedeagus ventrally at their longitudinal margins. In repose condition the aedeagus retracts into inner phallobasal cavity." |
