"The main reason is that 5XXX aluminum alloy is lighter and stronger than steel, which can greatly reduce the weight of the ship hull. Moreover, the corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy is better than that of steel. Therefore, aluminum alloy is increasingly used in ships. In the high-speed ships, steel is gradually replaced by aluminum. This paper mainly studies 5083 aluminum alloy. The dynamic performance of high strain rate under transient loads such as detonation and impact is studied. In general, the static mechanical properties are tested by dynamic universal testing machine, and the dynamic tensile tests with high strain rate are carried out by split Hopkinson bar testing machine. It is found that the yield stress and elongation of 5083-H112 aluminum alloy are 267MPa and 84.3% at 5000s-1 strain rate, 254MPa and 61% at 3000s-1 strain rate and 376MPa and 22% at 1000s-1 strain rate. With the increase of strain rate, the tensile strength of the aluminum alloy tends to decrease, while the elongation increases. This research result can be used for reference in ship design and explosion or impact analysis." |
