"The purposes of this study are to explore the current situation and relationship of teacher professional learning communities and professional capital. A questionnaire is employed to collect the opinions of elementary and secondary school teachers in Taipei City through stratified random sampling, and the effective sample size is 457. The questionnaire comprised two sections are the scale of “Teacher professional Learning Communities” and “Teacher Professional Capital”. As for data analysis methods, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling (SEM) are adopted. The main findings of this study involved: (1) The performance of Taipei elementary and secondary school teachers on their practice of professional learning communities reaches the middle and high degree. (2) The performance of Taipei elementary and secondary school teachers on their practice of professional capital reaches the high degree. (3) There is a positive and significant correlation between teacher professional learning communities and professional capital. (4) Teacher professional learning community has a predictive power of 56% on teacher professional capital. According to the research findings, several suggestions for the implementation and further study were proposed." |
