Chinese was not only the main language of migrant workers in workplace but also impact on their self-improvement and career change. However, due to their work style, the time of study was relatively limited, and the suitable learning methods, learning motivations, and learning scopes were different from the Chinese learner or international degree students in the Chinese Center. Therefore, based on the analysis of the needs of the leading research, this paper was targeted on Indonesian family care workers, which were the largest number of students in the migrant workers Chinese course and relevantly lacks of Chinese language ability. A 12-week Chinese course was planned using mixed research methods, through Chinese language proficiency test, course feedback, teacher observation records and semi-structured interviews to explore the feasible mode of migrant workers Chinese language courses. The research results provided suggestions for curriculum design, teaching methods, textbook content, and teaching topics of Chinese courses for migrant family care workers." |
