"The quality of life for people with heart failure is highly based on the support of individual's life autonomy and psychological adjustment ability, family economy, nursing manpower and living materials. Apart from the care by physicians and nurses, interventions from the medical social workers and clinical psychologists are inevitable for coping the various changes caused by the disease. The intervention of medical social workers mainly focuses on stabilizing the function of the family and consulting on discharge/welfare/economic issues; while the clinical psychologists, assess the patients’stress coping strategies. Medical social work assistance and clinical psychological evaluation can help the patients to face their physical crisis, reduce financial stress and care pressure, and allow patients to obtain a new balance of psychological health, quality of life and to face heart failure with medical team together." |
