"Because shortage of transplantable organs, widely range of mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices have rapidly developed and applied to advanced heart failure patients. Long-term ventricular assisted device (VAD) can serve as bridge-to-transplant (BTT), bridge-to-recovery (BTR) or destination therapy (DT) to achieve the goal of improving advanced heart failure patients’clinical condition and quality of life. This article focuses on the common clinical management of long-term VAD and its immediate and chronic complications of the VAD patients." |
