The System of Real Estate Registration/Recordation in Taiwan-- A Comparison with Australia

"This article sets out the codes, regulations and basic system concerning real estate registration in Taiwan. It also explores the method of registration, the object of registration/recordation, adverse possession, rectification of registration, disclosure of registration information and the registration assurance fund. There are some similarities between Taiwan and Australia. Generally speaking, they both adopt the ‘Registration Effectiveness System’ and the ‘Title Registration System’. The registration procedures are administrative in nature. In particular, there are certificates of title and registration assurance funds."
