"Bladder cancer is a common urological cancer. Patients with bladder cancer require longterm intravesical treatment. A lack of adequate care and guidance can lead to a patient becoming uncomfortable and experiencing negative emotions during treatment, which in turn may lead to refusal or interruption of treatment, thereby affecting the patient’s outcomes. Between March 6, 2017, and April 10, 2017, questionnaires were administered to 40 patients receiving outpatient intravesical instillation. The rate of patient satisfaction with the intravesical therapy was 64.6%. Some reasons for patient dissatisfaction were the complexity of the treatments, lack of treatment room space and facilities, lack of privacy, inadequate nurse training, and lack of health education. After improvement of the treatment process, room environment, and facilities; development of operational standards and procedures; and implementation of multimedia health education, the patient satisfaction rate increased from 64.6% to 90%, which reflects advancement in the quality of outpatient care for patients undergoing intravesical therapy." |
