"Objective: During full implementation with 2 days off each week, a medical care provider may utilize various work schedules for its employees. This study explored the relationship between occupational therapists’work schedules and job satisfaction.Methods: This cross-sectional study recruited occupational therapists working in Changhua. Questionnaires were administered, and 51 valid questionnaires were obtained.Results: Most (62.7%) of the occupational therapists’worked Monday–Friday, with some shift work over the weekend, whereas 31.4% of the participants had 2 days off per week. Compared with participants working on weekdays only, those with 2 days off per week had higher work schedule satisfaction (p < .001) and job satisfaction (p = .029).Conclusion: Our data indicate that work schedules are a significant factor affecting occupational therapists’job satisfaction. Improving work schedules could improve job satisfaction, thereby enhancing job performance and medical care quality." |
