工藝與藝術的距離：一個社會學取徑的解讀

In-betweenness of Craft and Art: An Examination Based on a Sociological Approach

本文探討現代工藝與現代藝術的內在關聯，從「工藝」與「藝術」這兩個語義的歷史變遷切入，探究工藝與藝術發展成今貌的社會基礎。這兩者在歷史上相互差異化的社會建構過程中，許多面向上都已發展出不同樣貌，但從藝術性的討論可以發現兩者都內含有海德格意義下的藝術性。工藝擁有不同於現代藝術的藝術性，從物質面向切入可以鮮明地彰顯出其藝術性的特殊之處。本文主張若現代藝術將工藝納含入創作過程，工藝不僅可以豐富現代藝術創作的廣度與深度，現代工藝領域還可能在工藝自身的藝術性基礎上，開展有別於現代藝術所理解的藝術性，具有開發出新藝術形式的潛能。

This study focuses on the intrinsic relationship between craft and modern art. It begins with the socio-semantic evolution of the terms “craft” and “art” and explores the social basis for their mutual distinction. In the process of social construction, the two exhibit different facets in several ways. By digging into the issue of artistry, we can observe that both are artistic in the Heideggerian sense. Starting with the material aspect, the artistic nature of the craftwork is easily revealed. This study attempts to demonstrate that modern craft will likely enrich the breadth and depth of modern art if craftsmanship is incorporated into the process of art creation. Furthermore, the field of modern crafts has the potential to develop, based on craftsmanship, a new form of art that is different from modern art.
