In contemporary Taiwan literature, themes that were avoided and banned as taboos are now becoming a distinct domain in academic studies. This article aims to discuss the subversive features in Chi's book Queer Senses: A Story Cycle of Sexuality, in which we focus on stories ''A Mermaid's Tale'', ''I Am Killed With One SM Porno Videotape'' and ''L'Eclipses.'' We analyze the discourse of narratives, manipulations of desire, and gender criticism to demonstrate how Chi employs Queer disposition as a basis to challenge, undermine, taunt, and even overthrow the hegemony and rigidity of traditional literary system and gender issues. |
