Based on fifteen years of experience, the author looked into the current status and future prospects of teaching medial jurisprudence courses in medical schools. From literature review and personal experience, teachings in bioethics and medical jurisprudence should be complementary to each other and are best offered together. Emphases on knowledge, attitude, and skills in these courses are important, so besides didactic lectures, these pedagogies should be combined with practical activities. In terms of assessment, diversity in methodologies for measuring the effects of students’ learning is recommended. Last but not least, significant social events should be incorporated in these courses. |
