This study applied the Sport Education Model in the volleyball course to explore the students’learning outcomes for Personal and Social Responsibility. 44 students were thus engaged in the volleyball class at a university in Southern Taiwan, and data was collected using questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. The instruments used included the scale for Personal and Social Responsibility, semi-structured interviews, and reflections on the students’physical education. The results indicated that the Sport Education Model helped cultivate learning outcomes in Personal and Social Responsibility among college students. These included respect for the rights and feeling of others, respect for class rules, encouraging and helping others, cooperation, self-direction and efforts, and transformations outside the gym. |
