The purpose of this study is to understand the relationships between the yoga involvement and emotional intelligence of the student participates who attended the 109-semester physical fitness class of Pingtung University. In this study, a questionnaire survey for the student participates was taken, adapted convenience sampling method and 32 valid questionnaires were gathered. Data were analysed with descriptive statistics and canonical correlation. The major findings are summarised as the following. From the demographic statistics, it is obvious to find a great number of students have not attended the physical fitness class and yoga course before. And the population of normal student, repeat choice, is increasing gradually. Yoga course is to be acceptable both for the physical fitness class and university student obviously. Finally, one canonical positive correlation was found between the yoga involvement and emotional intelligence which indicated that motives of participation were closely related to emotional intelligence. The value of research not only providing evidence there is a close relationship between yoga involvement and emotional intelligence of the student participates in the physical fitness class, but also further have found the identification of yoga has a huge influence on self-practice, and find self-practice factor of emotional intelligence has a huge influence on all factor of the yoga involvement. These results could be an essential reference to the development of university physical fitness class nowadays. |
