推展終身學習、保障國民學習權，是當前世界先進國家教育發展的主要方向，最終目的是要建構一個終身學習的社會。社區大學是終身學習政策推動中重要的一環，希望藉由學習活動的實施與民眾參與，凝聚社區意識並促進社區發展，提升公民參與的能力。本文將就社區大學的發展、定位、特色、危機、轉機與其永續發展策略等來探討成人終身學習的社區大學。

Promoting lifelong learning and ensuring people's right of learning are the trend of the educational developments in the developed countries around the world. The purpose is to build a society of lifelong learning. The community colleges are one of the important policies in the promotion of the lifelong learning. Throughout putting the leaning activities into practice and the public's participation， people can not only bring the connection and development of the community together， but also make the citizens to engage in policy. Our intention is to discuss the community colleges of the lifelong learning through their developments， orientation， characteristics， crises， turning points and the strategies of development
