Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the most common cause of abnormal ovulation during the reproductive years, however the exact cause and mechanism of PCOS are unknown. Doctors give different medicine for diffenert symptoms and purposes.In this case, a 32-year-old woman with long-term irregular menstrual cycles came to Chinese Medicine Department of Changhua Christian Hospital for treatment. Later, she was diagnosed with bilateral polycystic ovary in the department of obstetrics and gynecology. During the six months, she was treated with traditional Chinese medicine only which was based on syndrome differentiation and menstrual cycle. Under the treatment of tonifying kidney, dispersing stagnated liver, removing phlegm, and promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis, her menstrual cycle became stable and the vaginal discharge were seen in each ovulation period. She actively cooperate with the doctor for the treatment and is in good physical condition now. Here are the sixmonthly medical records of this patient, which provide evidence of the treatment for polycystic ovary syndrome by Chinese medicine. |
