According to the accident records and investigation reports, an accident generally results from many causes involving line operation and organizational management. In order to reduce the chance of accident occurrence, the aviation safety system should be exploredfrom a comprehensive and systematical perspective. Therefore, establishing a systematic approach to deconstruct and dissect the operation process and management system in airline safety is a must. This stuty applies the system concepts of blueprint and IDEFO. Firstly, the content of airline safety operation is understood and the activities and procedures of the safety management are integrated by process diagrams. Secondly, the relationship between activit.to and the elements with related manage subsystems of each activity are identified. Finally, a systematic approach to deconstruct the airline safety management system is established. With this approach, all the system components and the attributes of safety mechanism can be clearly described and clarified. In the end, the case of identifying potential hazards within an airline safety management system is illustrated, and the demonstration reveals that the proposed approach can be a useful tool for airline to design and review a ssfety system. |
