Decisions on an airIine network shape and flight frequencies of individual routes are prerequisite to an air carrier's operational planning. In contrast to conventional methods, Grey theory is a convenient mathematical device of which to solve problems containing uncertainty and indetermination. This research develops two models to design a network of airline routes and to determine f1íght frequencies on individual routes by applying Grey c1ustering and Grey programming. Finally, a case study withan airline passenger network and the other data is provided to illustrate the application of the models and the results. The results of the study verify that the models are practicable, and also províde higher f1exíbility on decision-making for airlínes. |
