The purpose of this study was to construct a reliable and valid leisure satisfaction scale for adults with cerebral palsy. The comparisons were made to see if there was group invariance for adults with cerebral palsy from different backgrounds in this scale. Based on the theoretical framework by Beard and Ragheb (1980), a designed, the Leisure Satisfaction Scale for Adults with Cerebral Palsy, was used to investigate leisure satisfaction of adults with cerebral palsy over the age of 20 throughout Taiwan. This scale measured the overall level of satisfaction experienced by individuals in terms of psychology, education, society, relaxation, physiology and aesthetics. Stratified random sampling methods were used to recruit valid samples, and these samples were randomly divided into two equal parts according to the needs of the analysis. First, the first sample set was analyzed by item analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and multi-groups analysis. Second, the second sample set was analyzed by cross-validation. Finally, a national norm was established. The results showed that ''Leisure Satisfaction Scale for Adults with Cerebral Palsy'' was a reliable and valid scale and measurement model passed cross-validation test. The groups invariance were confirmed for cerebral palsy adults with gender and marriage variables. The part of the measurement invariance was also confirmed for cerebral palsy adults with age variable and the main differences existed in the ''physiological satisfaction''. In addition, in terms of application, this scale can be used as a research tool in the fields of leisure education or leisure counseling and consultation, and to understand the six aspects of leisure satisfaction of adults with cerebral palsy. |
