This paper aims to examine the integral role of business in Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) through its engagement with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). At the same time, this paper attempts to explore how public private partnership facilitates the development of regional economic integration. Finally, from a broader perspective, through the review of active participation of the private sector in international organizations, the paper concludes that it is necessary to reconsider the role of the private sector as both an initiator and contributor to pursuing regional economic integration and liberalization in the future. |
