Due to globalization trends of the 1990s, East Asian states have carried out political democratization and market liberalization. But Japan is one of the states has been most limited. When the Japanese premier, Junichiro Koizumi, lead the Liberal Democracy Party to overwhelming success on September 11, 2005, an overall change has begun in Japanese politics. After the election, Highway Union reformation and Post privatization result in the disintegration of the clans within the LDP. On the other hand, the entrance of a large number fresh congressman into the Diet will facilitate the convergence of neo-conservation. The prime argument of this paper is that the Japanese economic recession from the 1990 is the main impetus for the tremendous change. The long-term recession in Japan is also closely linked to globalization. This paper attempts to explore the globalization dimension the implication of the Japanese diet election in 2005. |
