According to supporters of Basque nationalism the people of Basque Autonomy, Navarra Autonomy, and French frontier should work togetherin in order to establish a Basque Republic through a plebiscite or self-determination. Meanwhile, the terrorist organization, EAT, is provoking violent revolution, trying to force the governments of Spain and France to concede. ETA has also formed an alliance with the regional Basque Party-Batasuna in order to proceed via parliament for self-determination. Although political parties with ETA members have constantly modified their names, the over-simplified Constitution of 1978 does not stipulate in detail the dissolution of illegal parties. As a result Spain's government has overcome every difficulty and complemented the revision of Political Party Law of June 2002 and has begun the judicial process in August to convict the illegals of the Batasuna party. |
