英文摘要 |
Recent developments of global economic and political complexities have redefined national/regional security concerns. Economic concerns constitute threats to nation's development and security with less regard to what has been emphasized in the conventional notion of military security. Economic security thus becomes and alternative analytical aspect of national/regional security. Given the distinctive features of national capacities, security concerns and policy goals of different countries will vary. This article divides economic security into three conceptual categories: radical economic security, basic economic security, and geo-economic security. These three concepts are illustrated through the three case studies of the-national security policies of ASEAN, Japan, and the United States. This article concludes by discussing relations between regional economic interdependence and regional security cooperation in order to stimulate future research focuses of economic security. |
