An overbite is the overlap of the top teeth over the bottom teeth. A deep overbite can cause problems such as excessive wear, pain and aesthetic concerns. This case reports a 24-year-old male complaining of malalignment of the anterior teeth. The orthodontic evaluation revealed that the overjet was up to 7 mm and overbite was attained at 8 mm. The treatment plans include applying full mouth fixed appliance, reducing deep overbite, correcting the two lingualized mandibular premolars, and establishing an anterior vertical stop. The whole treatment took about 3 years to complete. The maxillary and mandibular arches were aligned very well. Adequate overbite and overjet were achieved while maintaining the Class I molar and canine relationships. Diagnosis and treatment of excessive vertical overlap at an early age can reduce the prevalence of traumatic tooth and adjacent periodontal tissues. Methods of treatment should be evaluated with care.
