This study presents the editing process of a set of heritage language picture books for new immigrant family in Chiayi County in Taiwan. Five features of the picture books are: 1. Related to children’s daily life experience. 2. Subject content from the shallower to the deeper. 3. Interaction learning and having dialogue 4. Repeating sentences and predictable. 5. Learn with play activity. The purpose of this picture book teaching material is to empower the new immigrants, to help them realized their great influence on their children’s learning. They are not just being a parent, but an important “educator” and a “teacher” to their children. Look forward to utilized this great picture books as a twitch, to encourage more children wanting to learning their parents’ heritage language.
