The purpose of this study is to apply the case method to information ethics curricula through the discussion between teachers and students and discussion between students and their peers, with the hope to enhance the learner ethical decision-making ability as well as learning effectiveness. Forty undergraduate students of a national university taking a course Information Ethics and Teaching participated in this study. The researcher designed the information ethics curricula with case scenarios focused on five ethical issues for discussion. After a semester, the researcher collected and analyzed the data including learner reflection of comprehension of the information ethical issues, learning satisfaction and opinions of the information ethics course, in order to understand the learner learning effectiveness. The results reveal that learners have good learning effectiveness of the information ethics course. Most learners are highly satisfied with the information ethics course and consider it as a good way to learn about the information ethics. |
