The effective supervision on informal finance is a vital precaution against illegal fund-raising. At present, the regulatory force is not ideally effective against informal finance risk, for whose elusiveness and dispersibility the authoritative concept, mechanism and measures are no match. Currently, the suppressive regulation is institutionally limited in two ways, in want of new techniques to resolve problems of high-cost access and processing of information. Big Data technology has its advanced advantages but also data limitations as applied to the supervision on informal finance. After securing information, a coordinated supervising system and a standardized data format should be established among central and regional authorities, in order to take full advantage of Big Data technologies and mechanical effectiveness.
