登革病毒的威脅，涵蓋整個熱帶與亞熱帶區域，但是目前並沒有藥物用來治療登革病毒感染引發之疾病。使用安全且有效的疫苗對抗登革病毒，一般認為是最具成本效益預防疾病的方法之一。本文將針對現在唯一核准上市登革疫苗之開發過程與其他進展較快登革疫苗之發展狀況予以探討。

The threat of the dengue virus covers a wide area throughout tropical and subtropical regions. No effective treatment for dengue illness exists other than supportive care. The use of safe and effective vaccines is considered the cost effective way to prevent dengue diseases.
