Characteristics and Prescription Patterns of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Infertility

目的：分析歸納不孕症患者之中醫用藥規律，以供臨床參考。方法：回溯分析桃園長庚醫院2004年至2014年間，治療不孕症之中醫處方治則及用藥。結果：所有中藥處方中，最常使用的方劑種類為補益劑(50.06%)，其次為和解劑(17.63%)、理血劑(13.12%)。最常使用單方及單味藥為左歸丸(15.36%)和香附(6.56%)。結論：不孕症患者主要病機為腎虛、肝鬱、血虛、血瘀、痰濕，因而相應使用治療藥物以補腎、疏肝、理血、化痰祛濕為主。

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the characteristics and utilization of traditional Chinese medicine among patients with infertility. Methods: We retrospectively collected medical records of patients with infertility at the Taoyuan Chang Gung Memorial Hospital between 2004 and 2014. Data including demographic data and traditional Chinese medicine treatment prescriptions were analyzed. Results: Zuo-Gui-Wan (Left Side Replenishing Teapills) (15.36%) and Xiang-Fu ( Cyperi Rhizoma) (6.56%) were the most frequently prescribed herbal formula and single herb, respectively. Con-clusion: According to the results of our research, tonifying the kidney, dispersing stagnated liver Qi, regulating of blood, clearing damp and resolving phlegm are major therapeutic principles guiding infertility treatment. Our data represents the consensus of experts’ knowledge and experience with regard to herbal selection for the treatment of infertility.
